The hand of man
In may ways, man has influenced the landscape of the Lake District so profoundly that virtually all the images on the site illustrate human action. This might be through grazing animals, dry stone walling, bridges, quarrying and mining, or simply creating paths and cairns. This section of the website aims to highlight both the ugliness and the beauty of our impacts.
